On Friday October 10th, Dreaming of a Disco welcomes Pen Pals and JABR from Chicago for an all-vinyl shindig at The Cardinal Bar alongside local favorite Nate Zukas🪩

Pen Pals is a DJ who lives to combine energy-forward records from around the globe to bring the dance floor together. Arriving in Chicago via his homeland of Scotland, no record store has been safe since. Expect deep cuts, eclectic edits and buoyant bangers during his “Italo-ween” set, perfect to close out our October party.

JABR is a self-contained artist working across both music and visual disciplines. He holds a monthly residency (The Night Gallery) at The Charleston in Bucktown, specializing in soul, funk, boogie, and deep house. Born in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood and raised in Rogers Park, his sound embodies the city’s musical duality - the soulful foundation of the south side meeting the textured sonic legacy of the north side. His art is deeply informed by his Chicago roots, offering audiences a blend of musical expertise and cultural storytelling.

Madison’s own Nate Zukas completes our October lineup, returning to the disco after an excellent set at our October party last year. The dance floor is in for a treat with Nate’s collection of house, disco, and classic dance floor records - guaranteed to get the party moving.
